Angelia Mathias, LCPC, LAC
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here, whether you’re ready to dive deep into therapy or just testing the waters. I specialize in helping people who often say, “I’m not really ready for therapy.” If that sounds like you, you're in the right place.
I’m trained in CBT, client-centered therapy, and solution-focused approaches, which means we’ll work together to find what works best for you. My focus isn’t just on coping but on building skills—particularly around communication, setting boundaries, and managing life’s ups and downs. I’m also a big believer in the power of mindfulness and wellness in helping you feel whole and grounded.
My Approach
Therapy doesn’t have to be this heavy, daunting thing. I approach each session with humor when appropriate, a conversational style, and a deep respect for where you are in your journey. We’ll tackle life’s challenges together, focusing on practical tools and strategies to empower you, build emotional intelligence, and foster a strong sense of autonomy.
If you’re looking for someone who will listen without judgment, help you find clarity, and encourage you to take steps toward growth at your own pace, we’ll likely be a good fit. I believe therapy is about giving you the skills and insight to navigate life more effectively—not just sitting in a chair nodding.
Who I Work With
My focus is on adults who are ready to work on boundaries, communication, and building healthier relationships, but aren’t necessarily sure they’re "ready" for therapy. I often hear that I’m the “perfect therapist” for people in this stage—those who might feel a little unsure about what therapy even looks like or are looking for someone who can guide them through skills training in a down-to-earth, relatable way.
What You Can Expect
During our sessions, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you’re free to express yourself. We’ll focus on your whole self—emotionally, mentally, and physically—to help you become more in tune with your own needs and strengths. Together, we’ll work toward solutions that fit your life, without pressure, and with plenty of room for humor, reflection, and real talk.
